Best when used after the 16th week of pregnancy. A baby's heartbeat is detectable between 8 and 16 weeks only under ideal conditions. Each week, as the baby grows stronger, it will be easier to hear the heartbeat.

We recommend liberal use of Aloe Vera or Personal Lubricant (KY) gel to reduce the static caused by moving the monitor around on the belly. The gel is not included. Baby Oil, Coconut Oil or Virgin Olive Oil which most folks have handy as well. Really anything that lubricates the movement will work.

Your experience will be best if you use a liberal amount of gel. We do however suggest that you don't use colored gels or lotions.

This item is really great to hear your baby's heart beat. My suggestion though is if you use it before 20 weeks don't get discouraged. Around 20 weeks is when you can pick up the heart beat within 1 minute of trying. Before that is not that easy and even once you do is not that clear. By 20 weeks it's amazing

We bought this early on and tried every 4-5 days until we were able to find heartbeat at exactly 10 Weeks pregnant today. Only took me 2 minutes and was easy to find! We were told to time how many beats in 15 seconds and multiply by 4 to tell the difference between mine and baby's. We found a strong heartbeat of 164! Totally must have during pregnancy! Put your mind at ease anytime with one of these!

17 weeks and worked on 1st try... Couple times after, it did take a few mins and heavy pressure but definitely heard heartbeat!!! Used an external speaker. The external speaker worked great!!

I bought this product for peace of mind after suffering 2 early miscarriages. I received it when I was around 8 weeks pregnant and have been trying every few days to find the heartbeat, and today at exactly 12 weeks I found it for the first time! I was hoping to be able to find it earlier, but I have a titled uterus which makes things a little trickier.
Overall I am pleased with this doppler. It work as advertised, and I know it will bring me peace of mind from now until I start feeling kicks.
